Our story
From a church youth group to a national NGO.
OBOIVU began on 6th February 2008 as a Community Based Organisation, Christian Youth Missionary Group Kinawataka. To serve every vulnerable youth in Uganda without discriminating by religion, political affiliation or tribe, we rebranded — and on 13th October 2021 obtained our URSB certificate to operate as One By One Initiative for Vulnerable Communities in Uganda. In 2022, we registered with the Government of the Republic of Uganda as a Non-Profit National NGO.
We work with the most vulnerable communities in Kampala to tackle unemployment, insecurity, poor sanitation and health, poor drainage, food insecurity, water-borne disease and computer illiteracy.
